Another successful trip. Good vis at both Gilboa and White Star. We had fun feeding the fish and exploring all the diver toys. The weather was great if not a little on the warm side. A few minutes below the thermocline at Gilboa was plenty to cool down, though! LINK TO GILBOA PHOTOS
Canoe Trip July 9th. A total blast. A perfect day on the water (or in it for some of the group). We floated down the Tippecanoe river at Winnemac. We all got soaked and drank beer and had fun. CANOE TRIP PHOTOS
Aug 25-27 Kankakee campout/Haigh dive.
Not a very large turnout for camping, but those who went had fun. Saturday we spend all day at Haigh Quarry diving. Yes, it rained most of the day, but we were already wet. The visibility in the quarry was excellent except around the boat, platforms, and docks. We saw the paddlefish right near the tubes and again out by the rock crusher. They have been coming much closer to the divers than before. We looked in vain for the muskellunge in the lake. maybe next time we will actually see one. HAIGH DIVE PHOTOS
Aug 11- 13 Pearl Lake campout/Milwaukee Wreck dive outing
The traffic was absolutely horrible both coming and going. Put a damper on the whole trip. Pearl Lake was a real dissapointment. Maybe 8 foot vis at best. Most was less than that. TIPPECANOE CAMPOUT/FRANCE PARK TREASURE HUNT. SEPT 22-24
Back to the good old days of Aquanauts Campouts. We got rain every day. LOTS of it. OK, we knew it was coming, but we were in denial. The park was quite nice with lots of good hiking trails. Well, they would have been nice if not for SWARMS of voracious mosquitoes. All of us were covered with welts. We spent all day Saturday hiking the trails. Sunday we joined up with Dive Quest Scuba club out of Valpo for the treasure hunt at France Park. There were about one hundred divers participating. Everyone who entered got some sort of prize. The best prizes were the computer and regulator. In our group the prizes ranged from a couple masks to a t-shirt to a measly hat. The visibility in the quarry was really lousy; maybe 8-10 feet at best. However Joe and Dave managed to find some paddlefish.
We joined up with Dive Quest Scuba Club again for this campout/dive. For those who showed up it was a fun weekend. Really nice weather for a change (it only rained in the middle of the night). Diving at Blue Springs was pretty good, but Dream Lake was terrible due to the atrociously bad visibility (3-5 ft).

Christmas party at Ray and Kelly's. What a great evening. Great food, good company, fun gift exchange. Thanks again for Ray and Kelly for hosting the party this year.
Winter weekend getaway at Turkey Run. A combined outing with the Valpo club. A fun weekend with games, food, hiking, and relaxing. Definitely goes on the repeat list. Jan 24/25 2009. mark your calendars.

Bonfire at Kenny's. A bust. The wood was too wet to light on fire despite our best efforts. Rescheduled for later in May.
France park campout/dive. May 10th. a good diving weekend. a bit rainy on sunday, though.
